SHS is now accepting food donations for homeless people who have achieved residency! These food donations will be used to create a welcome basket for them and Amazing Grace Food Pantry is making this all possible.

If you can find it in your hearts to help these people with a welcome basket, SHS has set up a donations box on 3rd Floor foyer and on the 1st floor in the kitchen. All donations are accepted until the last day of the year!

Desired Food Items: Canned tuna, PB and/or jelly, canned fruit in 100% juice (large cans if possible), ranch or Italian salad dressings! Other items are welcomed as well such as canned soups, dry pasta, etc. – NO refrigerated items! If you wish to donate a food gift card, please give them to Lisa (do not place them in the donation boxes).

Non-food related donations – Please call Lisa @ ext 1202

This holiday season, Allison Dowling and her family are organizing a toy drive in memory of her brother, Ryan Dowling, whose life was taken this past August.  As some may know, Ryan had organized a huge toy drive/ event in June of this year, which was extremely successful.

The family is organizing this drive in honor of Ryan and they are inviting all to join Christmas Eve for a Christmas gift, winter attire, hot coco and candy canes!  The family is collecting toys now until December 23rd.  On December 24th, they will distribute any and all donations at a local church in Hartford, Iglesia De Dios AQR.  Melisa Kupstas, Ryan’s mother, is willing to go shopping with any monetary donations if you are interested in participating, but unable to shop yourself.  They are asking the community to help make this drive as successful as the one hosted by Ryan himself.

The family thanks you all in advance.  They hope to see you there and appreciate any and all help provided.  God bless!
